Based on a viewer request, we asked YouTube to designate this video as "mature content". It contains extremely brief moments of distant, non-sexual nudity. The video is never in bad taste, but perhaps not appropriate for children.

In 2001, author and artist Maurice Sendak entered into an unusual collaboration with the Pilobolus Dance Company to create "A Selection," a contemporary ballet inspired by true stories of the Holocaust.
Sendak and Pilobolus brought different skills and viewpoints to the collaboration - which sometimes strained the relationship. One area of disagreement was whether to include a nude scene in the piece.
This video, an excerpt from the 2002 DVD "Last Dance," describes the controversy from each point of view. It contains brief, non-sexual nudity and is not intended for minors. Sendak prevailed and the nude scene remained in place.
Stephen Holden reviewed the "Last Dance" DVD in the New York Times on 12 July, 2002:
"The final scenes of 'Last Dance,' which opens today in Manhattan, are excerpts from a finished work that is so strong that it renders such debates moot. They show how the synergy of movement, lighting, costumes, scenic design and music (much of it composed by Hans Krasa and Pavel Haas, who were interned in Terezin and died in the Holocaust), blend into a moving dance-theater experience that transcends theoretical quibbles."
